Join us for a work party on Centennial!
We’re heading to a notoriously thick section of Centennial Trail to get it "race ready" for the Suffer on Centennial later this month.
When: 9:00 am
Where: Alfred Hole Goose Sanctuary (Whiteshell Provincial Park). Outhouses on site.
Plan: We will be spending 6 hours clearing a wide, fast corridor from Rock Ridge to the Powerline.
We meet at the goose sanctuary parking lot, get set up for the day and then shuttle in to the trail section for a through-hike.
This is a "work hard, play hard" day meant to celebrate the coming racing season. As always, we go out rain or shine. Please pack extra food, water, and definitely a dry set of clothes and shoes for after the work is done.
When: 9:00 am
Where: Jessica Lake Lodge parking lot
Plan: Expect 6 hours of brushing and clearing heavy spring deadfall. This is a critical link in our trail system, and our work ensures it stays accessible for the hiking season. We provide the tools and the expertise; you just need to bring the energy!
Pack your snacks and a full water bottle.
We typically cover 7-12 km over 5-6 hours on the trail.
Activities can include sawing, lopping, and clearing deadfall and downed trees, raking trail, and sprucing up signage.
Carpooling from Winnipeg will be arranged amongst those who RSVP by signing up. You must RSVP for this trail work event. Please complete this waiver if it’s your first time joining us for trail work in 2026 and email it to volunteer@matr.ca before joining us.
