Join us for a work party
We’re planning a BONUS trail work day on March 30, 2025.
Location: North Whiteshell Trail (Cabin Lake to Jessica Lake)
Plan: Expect to cover ~7+ kms over ~6 hours of trail maintenance on snowhshoe
When: We'll kick off our day by meeting at the Jessica Lake Lodge parking lot at 9:00 am sharp, carpool meet up in Winnipeg will be 7 am.
Join us for a rewarding day blending a scenic hike with vital trail care in the stunning North Whiteshell. We'll tackle the stretch between Cabin Lake and Jessica Lake, ensuring it's ready for spring adventurers.
We'll be giving the trail some TLC, including:
Clearing deadfall and brush.
Remove garbage and old flagging.
Installing new signage where needed.
We'll be using hand tools like loppers, saws, and hammers, it's a hands-on experience!
Participant Requirements:
Participants should be comfortable with a 7 km trek, potentially in winter conditions.
Participants should be able to carry a pack with their own water, snacks, and any necessary winter gear.
Participants should be able to use hand tools such as loppers and folding saws.
Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome.
MATR has a limited number of snowshoes we can lend to members who’d like to join us to trail stomp if they don’t own their own.
Carpooling from Winnipeg will be arranged amongst those who RSVP by signing up. You must RSVP for this trail work event. Please complete this waiver if it’s your first time joining us for trail work in 2025 and email it to info@matr.ca before joining us.
